Ellie Kang

Ellie Kang

Raised in Chicago, violinist Ellie Kang has performed internationally as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician. She was a soloist with the American Symphony Orchestra at Lincoln Center, NY, in South Africa with the KwaZulu-natal Philharmonic Orchestra and also with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra at Bushnell, Conn. Ms. Kang has appeared on PBS, performing live, in more than 35 major cities and states. As a full-scholarship recipient of the Pacific Music Festival, she was concertmaster of the Pacific Orchestra in Japan. She has performed at Carnegie Hall as a member of several chamber orchestras. Winner of the Harvey E. Mittenthal Competition, Ms. Kang was assistant concertmistress of the Skokie Valley Symphony Orchestra. Her Sienna Piano Trio won the Chamber Music Gala and performed at Jordan Hall.

Her first Lincoln Center debut was in 1999 at Alice Tully Hall. She participated in the Steinway Young Artists Concert Series and has given solo performances in Boston, Chicago, New York, Seoul, Shanghai, Taipei and Hong Kong

Ms. Kang's has taught over the last 26 years numerous students who have been accepted into prestigious programs such as the Manhattan School of Music, New England Conservatory of Music, Juilliard School of Music Preparatory, Mannes, School of Music Preparatory, Queens College and Brooklyn College.

Her studio is international as she teaches violin instruction online, too. Ellie Kang currently resides in Chicago as Director of Music Institute of Music, teaching and performing. Ellie received her Bachelor of Music from New England Conservatory of Music, her Master of Music from Juilliard School of Music, and Doctor of Musical Arts ABD from Graduate Center of CUNY.
